Allcord Bouldering Comp Round 1 Report

Aido Holt reports from the 1st round of the Sunderland Wall/Allcord Bouldering Series... 'The series got off to a fantastic start last night with a great turnout of local talent enjoying a challengingly set collection of problems (Many thanks the route setters - Andy Earl, Chris Graham and special guest setter - all the way from Holland – Suzan Dudink. Many thanks to all who helped organise and took part in what was a very successful event! Don’t forget the next round on February 15th 2008 at Sunderland Wall and don’t worry if you missed the first round - Your best score of two of the three rounds will be used to calculate final standings.' After the chalk settled and all the scores were counted the results are as follows:

North East youngsters join British Leading Team

The new British Leading Team for 2008 was announced yesterday with a strong presence from the North East. Tom Newman (19) and Adam Watson (18) have established themselves at an early age in the senior team whilst special mention must go to Tom Middlemas who joins the junior team in their aspirants group after an excellent result in the British Team trials against competitiors much older than him.

Allcord Bouldering Series begins this month

Sunderland Wall, in conjunction with Allcord, will be holding a brand, new bouldering series of three rounds to get the New Year off to a well intentioned start!! The first round will take place on Friday January 18th 2007 between 5pm and 9pm. Entry fee will be £2 plus standard wall entry fee. No prior registration is necessary – You can arrive on the day and compete and if for some reason you can’t make one of the rounds don’t worry: Only the best two rounds will be used when calculating your final score. The second round will take place on Friday February the 15th and the third and final round will be held on Friday March 21st. Fantastic prizes direct from the highly regarded Allcord stable (CAMP, PAD, ACOPA, LOST ARROW to mention but a few!!) will go to top competitors in the following categories:

Junior boys under 16
Junior girls under 16
Senior male
Senior female
Vet male
Vet female
