Allcord Bouldering Comp Round 2 Report

The second round of the Allcord Bouldering Series was a closely contested affair in all categories.

The senior male category was won by British Leading Team member Adam Watson with local climber Andrew Porter taking second place – with only six points behind to separate them!

First place in the senior female category was shared between Newcastle Students Polly Harmer and Rosie Shaw with Sophia Ballantine narrowly missing out on making it a three-way tie.

In the junior male category, Ben Patterson reversed the positions from the 1st round, taking the win by ten points from Jamie Naden. Kate Watson and Bethany Walton tied for 1st place in the junior female group and the ‘veterans’ saw Sian Oakley and Bryan O’Sullivan winning their respective categories relatively comfortably.

Venue change for BRYCS Round 1

Important news for any of the region's youngsters competing in this year's BRYCS event. Due to the closure of the bouldering wall at Eden Valley Leisure Centre in Penrith, the first round of the BRYCS will now take place at Newton Rigg Climbing Centre, part of the University of Cumbria, elsewhere in the town. More info about the venue is on their website


NMC appeal for your photos

The NMC are looking for photos to hang in the Blue Bell Hotel, Belford, during the BMC festival of climbing to be held this April. You can contribute your pics by visiting the NMC contact page and emailing the site admin. Bouldering, climbing and general shots of the county will be welcomed.
