Northumberland Bouldering

Good news for cave dwellers who have been waiting to climb under the cave at Bowden, which has had an in situ puddle for several weeks. The water has now been siphoned from under the roof and it is no longer necessary to wade to the starting holds!

The North-East's junior climbers from the Rock Solid team were in action at the weekend at the Cliffhanger event in Sheffield which hosted this year's British Bouldering Championships. Local lad Dan Walton climbed exceptionally to qualify in the final and finish 6th place overall whilst Eleanor Cranke finished a very respectable 11th in the girls' event. Shauna Coxsey and Tim Lloyd became junior champions, whilst Kate Whittaker and Gareth Parry were winners of the senior event.
