Area Description


An exceptional crag which for over two decades has witnessed boulder problems of ground-breaking difficulty. These include the classic Yorkshireman from 1986 to Malcolm Smith's sit down starts and the unrepeated traverses Lothlorian and Leviathan, through to the recent testpieces Caterpult and Monk Life. Some of the hardest climbing in the world on world-class quality rock in a magnificent location.

Location and Approach



From the A1 Alnwick to Berwick road: Take the Fenwick B6353 turn-off. Pass through the village and continue towards Lowick for 2 miles. At a crossroads about a mile before reaching Lowick, turn left towards Chatton. Pass Kyloe Out on your left and park at the first forest gate on the left. Please do not block the gate.
Public Transport: Bus to Fenwick and walk.
